Persuade Your Parents to Get You an Airsoft Gun
If your mom or dad thinks that an airsoft gun is dangerous, use these steps to try to persuade them to let you have one.

Steps
- Choose the right time to talk to them; not when they're busy or stressed. Help them out by cleaning the house, making dinner, asking him about his day. While asking them, be polite and say please.
- Make sure they understand what it is. Let them know that they're not real guns.
- Tell them a few good reasons why you should get one. It can be a fun hobby; you get exercise from running around in the shootouts with friends; you improve your accuracy, etc.
- Assure them that you are going to use it responsibly. Say that you'll wear a paintball mask and a long sleeve shirt. Say where you'll do it, that you won't paint off the orange tip, won't point it at anybody when you are not at an Airsoft game.
Tips
- When you are trying to persuade them don't get them angry: try to be nice so you leave the impression that you deserve it.
- Maturity and good attitude will go a long way, like doing chores.
- Begging gets you nowhere, so don't push it.
- Don't expect them to help you if you break it on the first day.
- Offer to get a job to pay for it yourself. You just need permission to get it. If you are younger, save up your allowance money or do chores to earn the gun.
- Show them this: http://www.familiesafield.org/pdf/Injury_page.pdf to show them that airsoft games aren't dangerous.
Warnings
- Always wear proper eye protection when shooting, you don't want to be blind.
- Always treat an airsoft gun like it's a real gun.
- Remember that airsoft guns are not toys.
- Never play in a public place or where people could see you.
