Convince Your Mother to Get You Something You Really Want

Ever wanted anything so bad, but didn't have the money for it? Follow these easy steps to convince your mother to buy you whatever you want!

Steps

  1. Take note of the store and what the "item of heaven" is. If you want to work for something and you forget what it was, well, that would be awful.
  2. Be as good and helping as you can be. The more you are good and helpful, the better positive feedback you will get from your parent(s) when you ask. It might not work.
  3. After about a few weeks, explain to your parent(s) about the thing you want. Tell them you have been working for it for a while, and you think you've been a responsible person and deserve a nice reward. If your lucky, They will agree and probably will buy it for you.
  4. Or if you have a short time you could beg and beg and drive them mad then they might get it for you ,but it's a bit risky. You might get grounded!
  5. You could ask your parents something like this: "Mama/daddy, do you have enough money for this?" "No, wait until I get paid" And then a few days after they get paid, ask them this: "Can you get me this? I know that you might say no but I just want to let you know I love you any way." Sweet talking most likely will work. Make them think you can understand their life and all the difficulties. The answer might turn into a yes. Or you could show your parents your report card and they could get you it(only if it's a good report card).
  6. Try waiting. People say that patience gets rewards. Just remember parent(s) are easy.
  7. Tell your mum that you would share the item with your siblings or if you are an only child, try to show your parents as much as possible so that they can understand why you want something that costs this much and then they might end up wanting to use it also.
  8. Be good, and don't cause trouble! Do dishes for your mum or give the dog a bath! Whatever you do, be good!
  9. Pretend you don't want it anymore (after a while of doing the other steps) then ask for it... If "no" is the answer, keep on trying!

Tips

  • When you're asking them, ask with gratitude.
  • Be helpful and don't ask them so much that you bug them.
  • Another way to get what you want is to ask for something bigger, better, and more expensive first. Then when they say no, you can bargain your way down to the item you really wanted. Example: You want a $200 bike. "Mom, dad, can I have a car? I've been getting good grades, doing my chores, and I think I've earned it. Plus, it's really a pain to bug you guys for rides." The parents say "no way... we don't have that kind of money" But if they say yes to that you've hit the jackpot! but if they say no... You say "well, what about a bike? It's a lot cheaper and I can use it to get around...." See how the bike doesn't sound like a huge deal now? If you want a car ask for a more expensive vehicle or truck.
  • Do lots of research on the item because you are more likely to get it if you have a great presentation on the subject.
  • Make sure your parents or parent are there when you do your good deeds. That will make them think you deserve something.
  • Explain to your parents how it helps with something, like a bike to make you more active.
  • Don't Beg, this will rarely work. Maybe ask when they're in a good mood and then don't bother them about it for a while. Patience will show parents that you can be mature.

Warnings

  • If you have been bad lately, you might want to wait a couple weeks before you turn "good."
  • You don't want to put your parents in the awkward position of giving you money when they need it for important things. See if you can check what they have so you don't make them feel bad, or broke!
  • Remember, if you have (extra money) give that to them, so that way, it will cost the same amount, but you make it cheaper since you get back
