Pop, Lock, and Drop It
This article will teach you how to do the 'Pop, Lock, and Drop It' dance. It's super popular and will come in handy on the dance floor!
Steps
- Pop. Popping is pushing the body part out, then in to create a jerky movement. Imagine someone pushing you from behind, then back in from the front. The best body parts to pop out are the arms, chest, or legs. You want to make a jerking motion to really let them stand out. You can even do more than one at a time!
- Lock. After popping, you are going to be locking your body into a freezing position to contrast the rest of the dance. Move your body into a strong and sturdy position, then jerk your body forward to a stop. Freeze for a few seconds, then continue the rest of the routine.
- Drop. You are going to be going down and up now instead of the side to side motion like the rest of the dance. Spread your legs so that they are about 2 feet apart and bend your knees until you're on the floor. Do something cool on the floor, then jump back up quickly with your body stretched out nice and tall and your lower half very slightly popped out.
Tips
- Practice a lot because it takes a lot of time to get it to look right.
