Everybody loves YouTube videos. You can watch NASA images from space, daredevils parachuting across the sky, computer instructions, the latest pop music celebrities, clips of famous people who are no longer with us, the crazy antics of cats and kittens and much more! YouTube is a fountain of endless possibilities. To make things even more exciting, you can share your favorite YouTube videos with your connections on Facebook. Following are the step-by-step instructions on how to do this. Read on!

Steps

Use the YouTube Share feature

  1. Visit YouTube. Find a video on YouTube that you want to share on Facebook. Simply enter your criteria into the search field, and a list of suggestions will pop down.
  2. Click a video from the search results.
3. Share it. There are several sharing options for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and your own website. To share it on Facebook, do the following:
    • Click the Share button located under the right corner of the video.
    • The area below Share will expand with more options. Click on the Facebook icon.
• Click the Facebook “f” icon in the sharing options pane that appears.
    • If you're not logged into Facebook already, log in and enter your email and password.
    • Choose how you want to share the video using the drop down menu. For example, you can choose to post it to a friend’s wall, your own wall, in a group or in a private message.
    • If you select any option other than “On your own Wall”, you will be prompted to enter the name of the friend or group you want to share the video with.
    • Enter a message to post with the video. (Optional)
    • Click the Share link button to automatically post the video and complete the process.
  4. Check to verify. Open Facebook and check to see if your video has been posted as desired.

Manually post URL

  1. Go to the YouTube website. Search for a video you want to share using the search bar.
  2. Click a video from the search results.
  3. Right click anywhere on the video. A popup menu will then show up. Click on the option, “Copy video URL” to copy the link to your clipboard.
  4. Paste the video's link in your Status field where it says "What's on your mind?" You can do this by right clicking on the field then choosing “Paste” on the menu. Alternatively, you can also press Ctrl-V on a PC, or Command-V on a Mac.
  5. After pasting the link, the Update status window should expand, revealing the video thumbnail and description. Once this happens, it’s now safe to remove the link from the status field and insert in your very own message.
  6. Click the Post button to share the video on your wall. Congratulations, you have just learned how to share a YouTube video on Facebook!
    • If you want to post to a friend’s wall, navigate to their Facebook profile and follow the same instructions.
