Prepare a Romantic Meal for Your Girlfriend

Whether your relationship is young and new or long and full of memories, preparing a romantic meal can bring you both on a more intimate level. According to well-known saying, a way to a man's heart lies through his stomach, but who can deny delicious food is one of the greatest pleasures for women, too?

Steps

  1. Explore your girlfriend's tastes. She may be a vegetarian or she may keep to a diet and can feel quite awkward refusing your thoroughly cooked beef steak. If your plans to cook for the evening are a surprise, then around two weeks before Valentine's day take her out to eat somewhere she's never gone before. As she reviews the menu and decides what to eat, inquire casually as to what sticks out to her and why. Try to get a grip on what kinds of foods she most enjoys.
  2. Be creative while choosing the recipe. It's better to make use of one original recipe than serve a routine three-course meal. But if you are not skilled at cooking, you can always buy a ready-made meal or add something special into a simple one. For example, you can use slices of the vegetables to make up her name on a well-known omelet. The attention that you put into the meal will make all the difference.
  3. Make a feast for the eyes. Remember that it should not only taste good, but should also look good. Focus on preparing a meal to be as attractive as it is delicious. In most cases, salads, fresh vegetables and fruits are favorable.
  4. Set the table to the appropriate mood. Candles and flowers are still in fashion, though if you want your dinner to be more informal, you may simply assort all your tasty dishes according to a color palette. Keep in mind that the first impression is important. It's preferable to use cookware, such as plates, cups or napkins of warm colors (orange, beige, yellow, light red) as they enhance positive emotions.
  5. Serve the dish when it's hot and fresh. This becomes especially appealing when you cook something as sweet as a pumpkin pie or a chocolate cake that can evoke warm feelings solely by filling the room with a lovely, appetizing smell.

Warnings

  • Remember, be yourself and try not to act weird.
  • Try to look your best, but don't overdress.
  • Don't cook too much for a romantic evening. Remember, it's not a full-range banquet and eating is not a mere goal. Romantic dinner is supposed to be a nice background of a pleasant communication.
