Put a Curve in Your Baseball Cap
This is how to put the "curve" in a new baseball cap, so that it isn't sitting straight or flat.
Steps
- Take your cap that needs curving and examine the bill.
- Curve the bill by flexing it with your hands and flex it to an angle you like. Then extremely curve it to the point that it is in a U shape.
- Find a coffee mug that has a wide mouth.
- Take some Elmer's glue and mix a small amount with water and put this mixture into a small bowl. It should not be pasty, but just be a milky colored water.
- Dip the bill of the cap into the mixture, especially covering the corners where it is adjoined to the hat.
- Put the hat into the coffee mug where it will stay in the curved position.
- Leave the hat in the mug for 24 hours. If possible, let it stay in a humid place, such as outdoors, or in a bathroom with a shower.
- When the hat is removed, it will now have a permanent curve.
Tips
- If your cap is not fitted and has an adjustment strap in the back, you can actually curve the bill and bend the cap down inside itself and tuck the bill into the space between the strap to hold it in place for storage.
- You can rinse off any glue reside with water and then let it dry in the coffee mug.
