Put on Makeup if You Are Blonde and Blue Eyed

If you're blonde and blue eyed, you may be experiencing "overdone" makeup. The key is to use subtle techniques and to avoid making too strong a statement. It's always nice to have a easy but noticeable look.

Steps

Adding the Foundation Layer

  1. Start by applying a moisturizer, preferably with SPF, to protect you! Make sure it is not tinted. This makes your skin feel fresh and smooth, and makes a perfect palette for other makeup. If you have acne creams or any other special ones, use them before you apply anything. If you want you can use a primer.
  2. Use concealer. Dip your finger in it (or brush), and dab it on your imperfections (dark circles, pimples, etc.) lightly. Make sure if you use your fingers to wash your hands thoroughly before starting this step. You can use liquid or powder concealer. Don't cover everything, make sure to show a little bit of you! Then, apply a powder that is the same shade as your skin tone and put it on the spots where you put concealer so that it stays covered up all day and looks natural. Use a small, fluffy (and clean) eye shadow brush to apply it. If you wish to put it on larger areas, use a powder brush. Shake off the excess and lightly sweep the powder on the spots.

Applying Makeup to the Eyes

  1. Apply a bit of brown pencil eyeliner to the corners of your eyes and the inside of your top lid. It should be barely noticeable, but it will add a little something extra later on. (This is like a sketch for the other eye shadow!)
  2. Apply some light eye shadow. Apply it over your whole lid. You can choose to use your finger or a brush, whatever works best. [Image:Put on Makeup if You Are Blonde and Blue Eyed Step 4.jpg|center]]
  3. Take a dark grey/silver cream eye shadow and put it on an angled brush. Draw a thin line with the shadow over your top lash line. Apply it over the brown, connecting the brown dots. Blend it in to the pink a bit so it does not look too dark. This is a lighter version of dark liquid liner that won't overpower your fair features.
  4. Apply black mascara to the top lashes. Avoid making it clumped, and do not apply too much. Use a zigzag motion to use it. If you are looking for a more natural look, you can apply brown mascara, using the same technique.

Fixing the Lips

  1. Top off the look with a clear or slightly tinted pink lip-gloss. It will add color and shine, but it'll be subtle. It's always a safe choice!

Tips

  • Make sure that your foundation/moisturizer matches your skin in all lights - use a hand held mirror if you need to. Ask at a beauty counter for samples and they will help you to find a match.
  • Don't use a darker foundation to make yourself look tanned - you'll just look like you're wearing a mask. Instead, use a bronzer.
  • Experiment and wear what YOU like.

Warnings

  • Any single suggestion for a certain look won't look good on everyone with blond hair, blue eyes and fair skin. It is just a general guide. Adapt it to your own features and preferences, as needed.
