Rebatch Soap (Almond Oil Method)
Want to make your own soap but don't have time to start from scratch? Then follow this guide to re-batch soap!
Steps
- Grate 2 bars of soap in blender or food processor.
- Boil a pot of water and put a glass bowl over the pot (like a double boiler).
- Add in a few drops of almond oil. Do this carefully, as most almond oil is very concentrated.
- Put the blended soap into the bowl.
- Take the water from the pot and add it into the bowl until soap changes into a paste.
- Add the essential oils, color, and vitamin E (optional).
- Pour it into a mold.
- Air it on wax paper for a day or until set.
Tips
- Ice-cube trays, jell-o molds, and cookie cutters may be used as molds.
- True homemade soap involves saponification of oils.
Warnings
- Rose petals and lavender may rot if not dried out completely.
- Utensils should not be used for food afterwards. If you must, rinse out very thoroughly!
- Never use food coloring, as it stains skin. Always use soap safe dye.
Things You'll Need
- Bars of fragrance-free soap
- Essential oils of your choice (lavender, rose, and jasmine work well)
- Vitamin E Oil (optional)
- Almond Oil
