Remix Rock or Pop Music Into Dance Music Using Audacity
Do you want to turn a pop or rock song into something you can dance to? Here are some steps that can help you.
Steps
- Get a MP3, CD, or other digital format of the song that you want to remix.
- Download Audacity. If you already have this application installed, skip this step.
- Download a beat. You could try Sound Click.
- Import or open the song into Audacity.
- Import the beat onto Audacity.
- Edit the tracks however you want. Strip it, separate the verses from the choruses, change the pitch/speed/tempo, phase it, do what ever you want.
- Export the newly created sound into an MP3, when you're completely satisfied with it.. Download the LAME MP3 codec and install it per the instructions for Audacity.
Tips
- Practicing and experimenting are the keys to making your remix sound good.
- Don't worry if your remix is not perfect. There is always scope for further practice!
