Sell Your Crafts at Home Parties

Home parties are an easy and lucrative way to sell your crafts, with no need to invest in expensive booth displays. They're fun too!

Steps

  1. Find a friend to host a party for you.
  2. Provide your host with invitations to give out to guests.
  3. Decide whether you will do a presentation for the guests or just let them browse.
  4. Arrive early to set up your display. Keep it simple, so that it's easy to set up and clear away. A table covering with some strategically placed boxes underneath will usually suffice.
  5. Chat to guests as they arrive and let them know whether they can buy there and then or whether you are just taking orders to be delivered later on. This is also the time to do your presentation if you have one. Encourage sales by being as friendly and helpful as you can!
  6. Give your host a gift to say thank you and a percentage of sales to spend on their own purchases.
  7. Ask guests whether any of them would like to host a party of their own.
  8. Clear away as quickly as possible once the party is over, so as not to impose on your host any more than necessary.
  9. Deliver any orders back to the host as soon as possible to distribute to guests.

Tips

  • If taking orders, it's best to have guests pay at the party, so that the host doesn't have to worry about collecting payment when delivering.

Things You'll Need

  • A good selection of your crafts, with prices.
  • Table covering and any other display props.
  • Receipt book and plenty of change.
  • Order forms or a notebook (if you are taking orders).
