Skip One Class Without Leaving School for the Day
Here is how to skip just one class and stay for the remainder of the day, as detailed by this article.
Steps
Faking sick
- A class or two before the one you want to skip, start telling your friends that you feel a little sick.
- During the class before the one you want to skip, for the first half act sick, but not too sick or the teacher may send you to the nurse. Hold your stomach or prop your head in your hands.
- About 2 minutes into the class, ask the teacher if you can go to the bathroom. Say that your stomach really hurts, you have a bad headache, or that you just feel bad all over. You may want to get out of there fast because you don't want to have an accident!
- Go to the nurse and tell her exactly what you told your teacher in case she/he asks your teacher. Convince her that you are sick, but not sick enough that you should leave school.
- Make sure you have something interesting to do when you are in the nurse's office, such as listening to music, playing games, reading, or doing homework.
- When it comes time for the class you want to go to or for you to leave for a sports game, tell the nurse you feel much better now. Say that it must have been something you had eaten, or that you still don't feel great but you feel good enough to go to class.
- Go to class. You've successfully avoided the class you wanted to miss.
Tips
- Do not elaborate on why you feel sick. If you say that your stomach hurts because you think you ate something that had gone bad, questions arise. Where did you eat this? When did you eat this? Who else also ate this? Do we need to call poison control? Once again, a simple "my stomach really hurts" does the job better.
- Just as a safety measure, as you are leaving the nurse's office, try to convince the nurse that you still feel bad, just not so bad you can't go to class. Don't make it look like you had a miraculous recovery.
- Do not sound too eager to leave during class to go to the nurse's office. Speak slowly and softly, walk slowly, and don't elaborate. For example, do not tell your teacher "Can I go to the nurse, please? I started feeling sick two periods ago, but then it went away, and then it came back, and then it went away again, and now it came back. Oh, and did I mention my head hurts too?" Also, explanations like that are prone to fail because the teacher will wonder well, if they already felt sick, but then got better, but then felt worse, and so on and so forth, yet they didn't go to the nurse, why should they now?
- Some people think it is okay to tell the nurse you have something different than what you told the teacher you have. This will not work. The nurse and the teacher work in the same school, and they probably talk to each other. Furthermore, some nurses check with teachers.
- Headaches are the best thing to say because you won't get sent home for a "headache" and the nurse will probably just give you some paracetamol which you can take and it won't have any negative effects.
- Headaches will also make it impossible for you to concentrate in class and the nurse will keep you off class until the paracetamol "kicks in" so you can go to your next class. Beware that the nurse (depending on your school) could just send you away though.
- Alternatively, if you are a girl, you can say you had female issues and were out of supplies, but be warned: they usually carry the supplies in the nurses' office. This can be a major no-no unless you know for SURE they don't have any in the office.
- Don't make yourself sound so sick you have to go home. For example, do not say that you threw up. Instead, simply say that you felt sick to your stomach.
- One of the best ways to skip is to stay until attendance is taken (so you won't be seen to be missing by the office), then tell the teacher you have to go and see someone important - your head of year, a counselor, someone to do with career advice, etc. Say you don't know if you'll be back to class within the hour. Then take your stuff and go to the toilets, lock yourself in and keep yourself entertained for the hour. Make sure you have a phone or a watch so you know the time.
- If you have the same teacher for more than one class (let's say for 4 and 7th period) on 4th hold your head and act sick then 7th period act sicker and ask to go to the nurse, it will look like you tried to make it through the day but you couldn't.
- It is okay to say you are dizzy, however it is not okay to say you feel like you are going to faint. It is differences like this which can help you skip a class, or get you sent to the principal for lying.
- When you ask to lie down, do not say "For math" or "During history." That makes people start to wonder. Instead, ask to lie down because you feel sick, and you are hoping that it will pass.
- You can get out of PE class by saying you twisted an ankle or have a stomach ache/headache, etc. This is very hard to prove.
- Also if you sign out a pass to say your guidance office you could wander around but be careful, don't get caught by hall monitors or have your teacher call the guidance office.
- If your teacher throws people out of the classroom until the end of class, be late on purpose and stand outside of the door for the whole period.
- If your school has days when you have to help the librarian or someone in the principal's office, pretend that it's your turn to do so. However this will not work every time with the same teacher.
- If you are a girl and you want to get out of a PE class, tell your teacher that it's that time of month or something along those lines. Usually they will let you sit out.
- The easiest way to skip a class is to tell your teacher you have a band/chorus lesson, as they rarely ever check.
Warnings
- Nobody can catch you skipping class if you complain about something like a headache or stomach ache, because nobody can prove you wrong. If you say that you think your throat is really red, or that you think you have a fever, you could be in trouble.
- Don't tell a different story to friends, classmates, teachers, or office assistants a.k.a. nurses!
- Remember that if you are caught your teachers may never trust you again.
- The nurse or teacher might tell your parents, and if you look too sick, they will take you home and it will also overdo it.
- Don't skip class too often; your teachers will get suspicious.
- Should you get in trouble, you should be very very apologetic. Do not talk back, but say "You know what? I'm sorry. This is really unlike me. I'm just really stressed out at the moment, and I felt that I needed to take a break. You're right, It was a really bad idea, and I'm never going to do it again."
- Depending on where you go to school, if you get caught skipping you could get expelled.
- There is a chance that you'll have homework, so be aware!
Things You'll Need
- One friend to confirm that you're sick (not needed but it helps) tell your friend that you felt bad the night before.
- One fake ailment (thought of beforehand)
