Share Apps on Android Bluetooth

On Android devices, you can share not only files like images, sound, and videos; you can also share applications installed on your phone or your tablet. A simple way of sending your applications to another Android device without having to root yours is by using a third-party application available on Google Play.

Steps

Installing APK Extractor

  1. Launch Google Play. Tap on the Google Play icon on your phone or tablet’s app screen.
  2. Search for an app called “APK Extractor.” This is a free, small-size application that you can download. Tap on the app when you find it.
  3. Install the app. Tap on "Install" to download and install APK Extractor onto your phone or tablet.

Sharing Your Applications

  1. Launch APK Extractor. After installing, launch the program by tapping the shortcut icon on your app screen. Once open, you will see all the applications currently installed and active apps on your device.
  2. Select the application you want to share. Tap and hold the program and wait for a pop-up menu to appear.
  3. Select “Send APK” from the list of options.
    • What APK Extractor does, like the name of the app suggests, is that it converts, extracts, and compresses the program to an installable APK file that you can send.
  4. Choose “Bluetooth” from the list of available share options.
  5. Turn on your Bluetooth. If your device’s Bluetooth is switched off, it will ask you if want to turn it on. Tap on “Turn On” to enable the Bluetooth.
    • Do the same for the receiving device.
    • The sending Android device will now scan any nearby Bluetooth devices. Wait for the name of the receiving device to appear on the list.
  6. Wait for the receiving device to accept the Bluetooth transfer. After the transfer’s done, open the APK file sent to install the application.

Tips

  • Sharing paid apps may not work using this method, and it is strongly advised not to share paid applications.
  • Only active applications can be shared. If the application is turned off or deactivated in the settings, it will not be detected by APK Extractor.
  • Transfer time will depend on the size of the extracted APK and the Bluetooth specifications of your device.
