Steps

  1. Navigate to text you want to copy. You can copy text from almost anywhere on your Android, including web browsers, email messages, and texting apps.
  2. Tap and hold one word in the text. The world will highlight in blue. You’ll also notice two sliders—one at the word’s beginning, and another at the end.
  3. Drag the sliders to highlight all text. Drag the first slider to the beginning of the area you want to copy, and the second slider to the end. All of the text you want to copy should now be highlighted.
  4. Tap Copy. It’s either at the top of the screen (it may have an icon that looks like two overlapping sheets of paper) or just above the highlighted text. The text is now ready to paste.
  5. Go to where you want to paste the text. Text can usually be pasted anywhere there’s a text/typing area, such as in a chat window, a document, or in a new social media post.
  6. Tap and hold the area in which you want to paste the text. A pop-up will appear.
  7. Tap Paste. The copied text will now appear in the text area.
