Act Like a Vocaloid
Do you want to be "kawaii" like Hatsune Miku? This article will help you become just like your favourite Vocaloid with easy steps!
Steps
- Decide on a Vocaloid character to be. Popular ones are Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Len, Kagamine Rin, Shion Kaito, Sakine Meiko, and Megurine Luka. Try to choose the most kawaii Vocaloid you can think of. Another option is to make up your own Vocaloid character but he/she has to be super sugoi! You will have fun doing this but not many would know who you are so I would recommend picking a real Vocaloid!
- Get a haircut like the character. A lot of them have crazy hair colours and styles so this might be expensive or annoying to do, but hey, worth it, right? Vocaloids like Rin and Meiko have easier haircuts to maintain, though.
- Learn how to sing well, then make it kinda sound like a robot. This is how the Vocaloids sing, so that's pretty much definitely how you should. Try autotuning your voice then mimicking it. Practice makes perfect.
- Use Japanese phrases in your speech, all the time. The Vocaloids are very kawaii and you should be too! You might want to consider taking Japanese classes, but if you don't have time or money, online translators work in a pinch to translate some common phrases. Be careful, as sometimes translators will give a very literal answer, or the wrong one entirely. If you do your research, and work at it, nobody will be able to tell the difference, and you've saved yourself money to spend on more Vocaloid stuff! A few phrases that are strongly suggested for you to throw into your normal dialogue include kawaii, baka, sugoi, watashi wa and neko. Make sure you know what these words mean first!
- Eat your Vocaloid's favourite food. For example, Miku likes spring onions (commonly mistaken as a leek), Kaito likes ice cream, Len likes bananas, Gakupo likes eggplants, and Luka likes tuna. Try to make it a base part of your diet. Make sure you still eat a healthy amount of everything else, though, so you can stay in shape for dancing! Don't eat something if you're allergic, obviously.
- Wear an outfit like the Vocaloid. If you are Miku, for example, you can wear a grey shirt, black skirt, and a light blue tie. You can google the rest. Make sure to wear this outfit all the time, to get into the mindset. You are not just acting anymore. You are the Vocaloid. The Vocaloid is you.
- Act like a Japanese idol. You can do cute poses like the V-sign. If you don't know any others, check Google images for some poses from anime or japanese idols.
- Learn how to dance like one. Good dances to start with are the Hare Hare Yukai, and the Lucky Star dance. Remember that you have to be a really good dancer to have people convinced.
- Act like your Vocaloid's personality. Incorporate it into yours until it reaches the point where you can no longer distinguish between your personality and your chosen Vocaloid's.
- Go to anime conventions and pretend like you really are the character. Tell people your name is Hatsune Miku and sing Vocaloid songs and do the dances everywhere. Eventually people will start thinking you are the Vocaloid, or at least somebody professional who was hired by the convention. No matter what, do not tell them your real name. They may try to trick you into fessing up, but stay strong. Eventually they'll give up and acknowledge you as who you truly are.
Tips
- Make sure you never drop the act if you really want to be convincing. When you've reached the point where nobody really remembers or knows your real name, give yourself a pat on the back. You have done it. You are now a Vocaloid master.
- Try talking like a robot. But a really cute/handsome robot. After all, you want to make people think you're absolutely kawaii.
- Find a bunch of friends who also like Vocaloid and become Vocaloids together! You are stronger in a group. A bit like fish, really.
- Act cutely and innocently.
- Don't let anything hold you back.
Warnings
- Be careful because buying a costume/wig to look like the Vocaloid can be really expensive.
- If you act like your own Vocaloid character then people might not recognize you.
- People will probably think you're weird if you wear your Vocaloid costume to school. It's important not to worry about what they think. Ignore the backs who tease you, because, in the end, you are infinitely more sugoi than they will ever be.
