Stay Warm at the Farm in Winter

If you get anywhere near the same amount of coldness at the farm as I do when not on a horse, You really need this guide! This wiki how gives you step by step instructions to dress when going to the farm so you don't practically freeze to death!

Ingredients

  • High Calorie food if you are putting a little weight on to keep you warmer, but not TOO high.

Steps

  1. T-Shirt. The first thing you need to put on is a T-Shirt, Any T-Shirt actually!! Any colour, Any pattern, Anything! Choosing the right T-Shirt is a lot easier for women as their hips are more noticeable really, Pick a T-Shirt that goes to just below your hips.
  2. Trousers. If you are actually riding at the farm you will need Jodhpurs instead of normal trousers but you understand! Anyway, Put the trousers on so that your T-Shirt is tucked in to your trousers. This will keep you warmer and free of cold drafts, If you are actually riding pull out a bit of your top to make turning and moving a bit easier.
  3. Socks. Pull your socks up as high as possible to keep as much leg as possible warm under your trousers.
  4. Boots. Always wear boots whether you are actually riding or not, Tuck your trousers into your boots to yet again stop nasty cold drafts.
  5. Jumper. Put a jumper, sweatshirt or sweater over your T-Shirt to keep you extra warm.
  6. Gloves. Put the gloves on so your gloves are over your jumper if they are like the kind of big, warm winter gloves rather than proper riding gloves.
  7. Coat. Finally, to keep you as warm as possible wear a thick coat.
  8. Padded Overalls. If you are working at the farm instead of a coat consider wearing overalls which are padded rather than just a normal, simple coat.
  9. Fat. If you are slightly thin try to put a couple more pounds on, since if you are already very bone-like you can manage!
  10. Warmth. If you are taking somebody else to the farm but are waiting to take them home again consider sitting in your car or somewhere else warm than maybe watching the person you've took riding.
  11. Flask. If you are going to be sat or stood somewhere watching someone riding take a flask to drink out of and warm yourself up.
  12. Home. Try to have your home nicely heated up for when you are home, It will make you feel warmer when you come in.

Warnings

  • No hoods if you are riding. They stop you from being able to look to either side if you are wearing it under your riding hat.
