Stop Carpet Stains from Resurfacing

So, the carpet stain removal information you got from Ehow worked great, but 24 hours later the stain is back. The problem is known as wicking. Here is a solution.

Steps

  1. Select your stain removal method according to your circumstances.
  2. Blot stain until almost dry.
  3. Cover damp spot with white towel, napkin, or paper rag.
  4. Place weight on towel, napkin, or rag.
  5. Remove weight after carpet is completely dry.

Tips

  • Using too much spotting liquids/detergent can leave behind a sticky residue. Try to use the least amount of cleaning solution required to remove the mark, and be sure to flush it out and dry it up. If you need to, use large quantities, or else dirt will naturally find its way attracted back to the same spot.
  • Distribute weight evenly over entire spot cover
