Steps
- Find a shot glass, preferably one that will accommodate the equivalent of two shots.
- Choose the tequila to be imbibed. Choice of tequila is an integral part of the tradition. The cheaper the tequila, the manlier the shot-taker appears. Anything with a worm in it gives you an instant man status, even if you tear up afterward. Premium tequila, such as Patron, is suggested for beginners.
- After choosing the tequila you must gather all the accoutrement.
- Find either a ripe lemon or lime.
- Cut the lemon/lime into eighths.
- Grab salt.
- Pour tequila into the shot glass. Fill it to the brim.
- Shake some salt onto the webbing in between your thumb and index finger.
- Hold lemon/lime in the same hand that you have poured the salt on.
- Grab the shot glass in your free hand. Raise the shot glass and offer a toast. 'Salud' should suffice.
- Lick the salt off of your hand.
- In one smooth motion take the tequila and drink it.
- Suck on the lime.
- Repeat until satisfied.
Tips
- Reach down and find some testicular fortitude. Females need to reach down and find some ovarian fortitude.
- Singing "Anchors Aweigh" is an added touch, but should only be undertaken by the experienced.
Warnings
- Snorting the salt may cause sinus problems.
- The lemon/lime juice may cause corneal burns.
- May cause self esteem issues, as you realize you are nothing but a little girl who needs to man up.
- Drinking to excess can cause a host of problems such as: "beer goggles", over emotionality, and death.
