Tie a Winter Scarf So It Doesn't Fall Apart
The scarf is a versatile accessory for stylish appeal or winter coverup. There are many ways to tie it, but it usually falls off in some styles. This style is called the slipknot scarf or the European Loop. It is easy to make, warm, and sturdy.
Steps
- Take a medium-sized scarf and fold in half lengthwise. Make sure it is even and loose.
- Take the scarf and place it on your neck like a regular scarf, still folded. Make sure the fold/loop is on one side and the two open ends of the scarf are on the other.
- Take the side with two open ends of the scarf and pull it through the loop/fold on the other side. Pull it loose or snug, depending on the style you want. You can adjust the knot to be slightly on one side or in the center.
Tips
- You can pull it tight to keep you warm or with larger scarfs, keep it loose for more drama.
- If you are wearing a coat/jacket, put your scarf on top.
- A long scarf is OK to use, but the knot and hanging ends will be bigger and longer.
Warnings
- Don't attempt this with a short scarf.
- Don't tie your scarf too tight.
