Untwist a Seat Belt
It's a fact of life: seatbelts always end up twisted. Some might even claim there is a conspiracy by motor vehicle companies that the seatbelts originally come twisted. Whatever the source, it really isn't that hard to untwist a seatbelt. With a little patience, you'll soon have everything in order.

Steps
- Start where the seatbelt comes out of the retractor.
- Follow the path of the seatbelt, keeping the belt aligned using your fingers, until you reach the top of the shoulder harness.
- Once you reach the top, remove any twists by carefully feeding the belt through, forcing any twists with it.
- After the first part is untangled, rotate the rest of the belt to remove the twists. You may have to find the end of the seatbelt where it is bolted to the floor of the car and rotate the clip around the bolt to fully remove the twists.
- Release the belt slowly.
Tips
- Do it slowly and take it one step at a time.
Warnings
- Never unbuckle the seatbelt while the vehicle is in motion.
- Never do this while the vehicle is in motion and you are the one driving.
- Watch your fingers, don't get them caught in the retractor.
