Use Spotify With Facebook
As announced at the f8 Developer's Conference in September, 2011, Spotify and Facebook have joined together to add a more musical component to Facebook. While Spotify has always incorporated Facebook into its experience, Spotify will now show up more in Facebook news feeds.
Steps
- Get a Get Spotify account and a Facebook account.
- Navigate to your Facebook homepage by clicking on the Facebook logo in the top left corner.
- Click on the Music tab located under APPS in the left sidebar. If you don't see it there, look for it on your full list of Facebook apps. You will now be able to see songs and playlists that your friends are listening to, as well as view the Top Songs that your friends are listening to.
- Click the "Play" button next to any song to listen immediately on Spotify. The first time you do this, you will be prompted to add Spotify to your Timeline.
- A Spotify installer will begin to download immediately. Follow the directions that pop up on Facebook to finish the setup.
- Once you do that, Spotify will open and a notice will open about the Social integration. Click Get Started.
- Go to your friend's profile and look for posts that show what they are listening to to find new music.
- In the News Feed, hover over stories about music that your friends are listening to to learn more about the song or view comments.
Tips
- Remember that Spotify needs to be open in order to play songs from Facebook. If it is not, a notice will pop up which will ask for your permission to launch Spotify.
