360 Flip on a Tech Deck

A flip is any skateboard trick that has the board flip 360 ° (degrees) in the air. The plain 360° flip is a basic maneuver for many other tricks, and also useful for avoiding obstacles, like jumping mini-stairs and ledges.

Steps

Pushing with Your Index Finger

  1. Get a Tech Deck.
  2. Place your pointy finger between the logo and the bolt, off to the side that is facing you, and place your middle finger on the tail of the board while starting on a flat surface.
  3. Pop the back, but hard enough that the board flies up. Then kinda catch it in mid air and flip it, then softly push off with your index finger.
  4. Catch the board before it spins too much, make sure your fingers land in the right place.

Flicking with Your Index Finger

  1. Put your index finger in between the k on deck and the back set of bolts.
  2. Put your middle finger on the tail kind of at an angle. (turn and curve your finger forward)
  3. Get a comfortable speed.
  4. Scoop with middle finger.
  5. Flick with index finger. It should come right under your fingers.
  6. Land it and ride away.

Using a Pencil

  1. Sharpen one end pencil.
  2. Push down on the sharpened end so that one end is of the surface.
  3. Follow steps 2 & 3 of Method 1 for tech deck.

Using Three Fingers

  1. Put your 3 fingers on the board [make it so you have your thumb and pinky free.]
  2. Then twist and pop up the board and catch the board on the flat surface right. (Easier Said Than Done)

Using Your Middle Finger

  1. Put your middle finger in between the TECH and the top two bolts.
  2. Put your index finger in between the lefthand bolts and the Tech Deck
  3. Put your ring finger on the very edge of the board.
  4. Push hard on the end of the board with your ring finger, whilst twisting your wrist in the direction you want the board to flip, and quickly release your other two fingers.
  5. If you did it right, the board should now be spinning crazily in the air.
  6. Attempt to put your fingers on the upper surface of the board and put it down facing upwards. If it lands the wrong way, then grind on something and pop it back up onto the table upright.

Tips

  • If you have trouble, do method 2 but don't worry if it does not come off the ground. You can practice doing these steps to make it spin nicely.
  • Don't get discouraged, because every trick takes practice anyway
  • If you're doing it in front of somebody, then always do the trick near something you can grind on. That way, if the board lands the wrong way up, it won't look so bad if you grind it, then pop it back up onto the flat surface facing upwards.
  • If you find this trick too difficult at first, work up to the whole spin gradually.
  • It's hard but eventually you'll get it.
  • It can take a long time to master any complicated trick, so do not give up easily.

Things You'll Need

  • Tech deck skateboard
  • Flat surface or platform
  • Effort
  • At least 2 working fingers
  • Some ramps and objects to trick over (when you have mastered it).
