Act Like a Greek Goddess

If you want to be like a goddess or god, either Roman or Greek, then just follow everything below. It's really easy, as long as you believe you could be a god or goddess!

Steps

  1. Wear clothes that are fancy, yet comfortable, or it will be too obvious.
    • The colors, white, light pink, lavender, light blue, and light green are nice. If you are acting like Artemis, then wear comfortable clothes. Preferably, silver or gray.
  2. Don't be afraid to be better than others for you are "a god/goddess".
  3. Do NOT go around saying, "I'm a goddess. Respect me." This will make you look a bit dumb and will be offensive to those who serve actual gods.
  4. Don't hang around people that much.
    • This doesn't mean don't have friends, but spend more time on your own.
  5. Know your Greek mythology. It is essential to have a basic understanding of Greek mythology. Read some stories from Ancient Greece in order to better grasp their way of life and the role and behaviour of their gods and goddesses.
  6. If you want to be like Aphrodite, wear lip gloss, mascara, (if needed) and cover up for blemishes. Or Artemis, don't be, "Look, the soccer ball went into bushes. Someone go get it." Instead, go get the soccer ball yourself.
  7. Keep a journal. This is optional, write down things like, "I wish I could've help the girl who scraped her knee today. I wish I could tell somebody I can help them." Don't lie into it, so don't say, "I learned how to levitate today. I started with scraps of paper." But do leave it somewhere and when someone finds it steal it back and say, "None of your business."
  8. Be kind. A goddess doesn't go around saying, "PICK UP THE TRASH! I WILL LAY A CURSE ON YOU!" Only punish people if they're being mean, or not doing the right thing.
  9. Remember, acting like a Greek goddess doesn't mean you're against your religion. It just means that you want to ACT like one.
  10. Be graceful. Smile slightly but not big and bright. Look mysterious like your hiding something, because you are. You're a goddess. Try not to trip, and if you don't know an answer in class, say,"Sorry, I don't know." Don't make an attempt, if the teacher begins to give suggestions, go along with it.
  11. Be smart. Study for quizzes, and take time on class work.

Tips

  • If you want to act like the above, but not so 'godly', you could try acting like a demi-god. Literally, the child of a God and a mortal.
  • Hades is deep and dark. Though black should be a primary color, don't be so gloomy though. You can be gloomy but don't act depressed if you aren't- you can smile, though. He is also the god of riches, so gems can be optional.
  • If the god/goddess is the opposite gender that's okay. You can be the boy version or girl version of the god/goddess.
  • Athena is really smart and wise. Study for tests and be very careful what you say- everything should sound inspirational or smart. Don't be a know-it-all all the time! In the subjects you lack, show a high sign of interest if you can. She would take notes in classes and never be bored. Learning is a great experience. Don't dress nerdy but dress smartly, neatly and accurately.
  • Ares is the god of war- know your wars and bloody scenes in movies. He is very rude, angry and pushy, though has swooned the goddess Aphrodite. He is very handsome.
  • Apollo is tons of things. You can write poetry, you can play instruments or think about being a nurse, or help out. He's a god of many things! He's always happy and quirky, just like the sun.
  • Another good thing is to READ books, myths and fiction books but Percy Jackson and The Olympians series has the Greek Gods personalities and things they would say. The Percy Jackson movie is NOT the way to go.
  • Artemis is the goddess of the hunt, the moon, young maidens, and children. She swore never to fall in love. She wears silver, but sweet, comfortable clothes.
  • Zeus is god of the sky. He is ambitious so don't think any goal is too wacky. Accomplish your dreams- he made something out of nothing. He's powerful, too. He's a king! Don't forget, but treat everyone fair.
  • Demeter likes planting things. Be involved with nature! She is a more sophisticated, elegant boho, and very tender to her earth.
  • Hermes likes stealing things and traveling. He always has a plan and usually knows everything and delivers messages to people- like when people have fights he tells people what the other person said. Sort of like that.
  • Hera is the goddess of marriage, childbirth, and her sacred animals are the cow and the peacock. She gets jealous easily, that is a HUGE no-no. But dressing like a modern day queen should go well.
  • Hephaestus likes working with metal. He isn't oh-so handsome, but he fidgets a lot using his hands and never speaks. Modern day him would probably be in a wheelchair (his legs do not work because Hera threw him off Olympus when he was a baby). He creates jewels for Aphrodite.
  • Aphrodite wears lots of makeup and really fancy clothes. Don't forget to flirt a bit, too, flip your hair and smile, even if you have braces or crooked teeth. She loves laughter too, so laugh at least three times a day, but over the top laughing is not acceptable. Cover your mouth with your hand when you laugh, never bend over! She keeps a tall posture. She changes lovers, so you could change crushes a lot, but not so much. Don't spring onto boys so quickly!
  • Persephone likes flowers and nature, more flowers though. Be a gardener or have an outside interest. Connect with nature and be eco-friendly. Floral accessories are always cute and a boho-chic look would be great.
  • Poseidon is the god of the seas, so you should hang around the water more often. He's violent when things go bad, and he hates the air (Zeus) and he doesn't exactly like dark spaces (Hades) and he hates know-it-alls (Athena). He's moody and is very tropical-like. Dress like a surfer, grin tons and an ideal thing is to be tan.

Warnings

  • People may laugh at you if you tell them that you're a god! Let them figure it out for themselves.
