Add Pauses to a Phone Number
To prevent typing access codes, extensions, or bus stop numbers into phone access systems, just add a pause then your codes to the end of the phone number. This is also known as pause dialing.
Steps
- Append a pause symbol (varies phone to phone) to the phone number you are typing into speed dial.
- Save the number.
- Call the number to check if it works.
Tips
- Press * three times for a pause on a Nokia or LG cell phone, a 'p' should appear.
- some PDA phones use letters or Commas... Motorola Q uses a "," and the Samsung Omnia uses a lower case "p" and use "w" for wait
- Hold the # key to enter a pause on a LG cell phone; Press the upper right scroll button. Next, press 2 second pause option.
- On some LG phones, press the right "Options" softkey and scroll down to "Add 2-Sec Pause". A 'P' will appear as a pause indicator.
- Hold * to enter a pause on a Samsung cell phone.
- Press Redial|Pause on a Uniden cell phone.
- Hold * to enter a pause on a Sony cell phone.
- Nokia 928 uses a comma. To insert comma, press and hold period until popup menu appears with additional characters. The comma is included in the popup.
