Add a File to iTunes

Do you want to add a file, such as a .wav, .mp3, or .m4a, to iTunes? Follow these simple steps to do so, allowing you to listen to it, put it on your iPod, or burn it to a CD.

Steps

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Find the file(s) you wish to add to iTunes. If you need to press apple/⌘ F and enter the name of the file. An application will open that will find your file for you.
  3. Go to the folder where the music file is and drag it into your iTunes library.
  4. Wait for the song to appear in your library with the name of the file as your song's name.
  5. Change the details of the song. Click on it to select it and click on the text that you wish to change.
  6. Drag it to your iPod, another CD, or a playlist. Have fun!



Tips

  • When you add the song's name, it may have seemingly disappeared. This is because the library is in alphabetical order. Scroll up and down until you find it.
