Automatically Sign Into Your Verizon Voicemail

Having to type in your password every time you want to check your voicemail can be a drag. Fortunately, the software is set up so that you can do it automatically with a little effort. After the jump, learn how to set up automatic sign-in for your Verizon Voicemail.

Steps

  1. Go to your Contacts.
  2. Navigate to your voicemail listing.
  3. Click edit.
  4. Verizon's voicemail code is *86. Change this to *86P1234#, where 1234 is your password.
    • NOTE: the 'P' above indicates a pause, so if your phone doesn't allow a 'P' try to replace it with whatever your phone will accept as a pause character (often a comma)
    • If this does not work or takes a long time on your phone, try using a pound sign in place of a "P" (Example: *86#1234#).
  5. Save the contact.
  6. Check your voicemail. It should now sound equivalently like, "Please enter your ..." and then go straight to your inbox.

Tips

  • Newer phones will have a key to press to insert the pause. This will insert the P for you.
  • The voicemail prompt may take a bit longer to respond and so you'll have to add another 'P' (add pause) or two.
  • Older phones may have to insert the P manually.

Warnings

  • Anyone with access to your phone will now be able to sign into your voicemail, change settings, and change the password. Use with caution.
