Be Secretive About Your Whereabouts To Your Parents

You can drive now but your parents are worried about your safety and they don't want you to go far. Or perhaps you want to spend time with your friends whom your parents don't know. If you have overly strict parents, here are some tips for living your life but not upsetting your folks!

Steps

  1. Prove to your parents that you're a safe driver. Let them ride in the car with you and show that you are a responsible driver.
  2. Always tell the partial truth to start with. If you say that you're going to eat with one of your friends, actually do it. But however if you want to stop at so and so's house on the way home you can do that too! Always make sure that your secret destination isn't more than 15 or so minutes away from where you're supposed to be.
  3. Call your parents when you get to where you told them you'd be, and tell them you'll call when you're coming home. But, when you head for your next destination call your parents and tell them you're still at wherever you're supposed to be. Figure out how much time you'll be at your next stop...but don't make it too long. Your parents might find it suspicious if you are at a restaurant for 3 hours!
  4. Confess if you know your parents won't go ballistic! When you get home the easiest thing to do is tell them what you really did if your parents aren't too harsh about that. If you went to Bill's house and they ask if you had fun say "Yea, we ate and then I went to Bill's house for a few minutes." You already did it, so how mad can they get? Next time you go "wherever" tell them the truth.
  5. Always keep things like extra clothes, toothbrush, hairbrush, or whatever in your car. So that way you can uh...cover yourself if something happens.
  6. Always play safe too and make sure you have a condom in any occasion that calls for it. If you get pregnant or get someone else pregnant you will not be able to hide it from your parents and it will surely drastically change your life for ever.
  7. The Museum Method- Works especially well if you live in a city. This is also cool if you need a small amount of money; say its for admission! The night before, or any time you are able to use a computer beforehand, read the museum's website that you are going to visit. This way when your parents ask you about the museum when they see you, you can lie easily. If your parents ask for the receipt, say you threw it out without thinking. If they ask about photos, say your friend took them.

Tips

  • Earning your own money is VERY important. The benefits are two fold: first, it will make you appear more responsible, but FAR more importantly, it will give you funds to spend which don't require any explanation. Even if your parents are generous, your own account (if you have one) or money stash will FOR SURE come in handy. Money can be used for dates, incidental expenses, travel and to cover up any mistakes you make. In short, private stores of cash money are central to freedom.Supplementary tip: if you get a job, don't tell your parents how much you make or where you spend it.
  • Stick to your curfew, or at least call when you're going to break it...
  • If they are going to drop you off in a car anywhere, just act like you are tying your shoes, in front of the building or wherever. Once they pulled away and are completely out of sight, then head off to your final destination. This is even easier to do in the city because its more crowded. Bringing an umbrella and just saying you are using it for the sun (or if it isn't sunny, just say you think its going to rain) is a great idea, for obvious reasons.
  • Give your parents time, as they get used to you growing up and being on your own they will learn to trust you more.
  • Honesty is the best policy and if you don't cover your track extremely carefully then you'll just get caught in your lies and be in an even bigger mess.

Warnings

  • Understand that if you get caught, you may shatter whatever trust you have with your parents. Be prepared to spend months or years being brutally honest in order to earn back that trust.
  • Don't ever drive when you're under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Point, DON'T DO DRUGS AND DON'T DRINK!
