Celebrate Valentine's Day Without Being Lovey Dovey

It can feel uncomfortable to have a too lovey-dovey Valentine's day. Also, it can be so hard to make the perfect Valentine's day WITHOUT it being lovey-dovey. However, fortunately for you, it is still possible. Read this article to find out how to do it.

Steps

  1. When your significant other starts getting carried away with the lovey-doveyness, try utilizing one of these phrases:
    • No thanks, how about a stroll around town instead?
    • Why don't we try spending Valentine's Day by watching a movie?
    • Um, I've got two tickets to the theater (if you have some). Want to go see the movie?
  2. Should your significant other start to dress too lovey-dovey, simply say "Isn't that a bit much?"
  3. Try to spice it up a little bit by not giving chocolates. Chocolates can come across as too mushy and soft. Give something more unique like:
    • Cookies
    • Pie
    • Their favorite food, etc.
  4. If they come up with an idea like smooching in their car or in the bed, perhaps, tell them that it's too original, if you think it's too much.
  5. Do something unique, for example, post a video on YouTube of your Valentine's Day (if your love is ok with it, of course).

Tips

  • Remember, watch what you do, because you could end up being the one who is too lovey-dovey.
