Convert a WordPerfect Document to a Microsoft Word Document

Were you a former WordPerfect user who stored documents in WordPerfect format and forgot to change them over now that you are a Microsoft Word program owner? After you read and follow the directions in this article, you'll know how to convert them over so that you can still read and edit them in Microsoft Word.

Steps

1. Install and open Microsoft Word with a new document present.
2. Use the process you normally use to open the document you have saved.
3. Insert the drive or browse to folder of the file you need to convert.
4. Click the drop-down arrow of the tab known as "Files of type" (as in the 2003 version of Word). You'll need to locate where it says Word Perfect (or something real close to that).
5. Click this option (Word Perfect). Your file should now be displayed.
6. Double-click your file.
7. Save the file as a new Microsoft Word document. Use the Save-as method to save your file.
