Insert a Pagebreak in MS Word Without Formatting Trouble

Learn how to force a paragraph onto the next page without leaving behind formatting artifacts.

Steps

  1. From the Tools menu, click Customize.
  2. On the Options Tab, click the Keyboard button.
  3. Select Format from the Categories list, and ParaPageBreakBefore from the Commands menu.
  4. In the Press new Shortcut Key input box, press the ‘CTRL’ and ‘Enter’ keys.
  5. Click Assign.
  6. Click Close then Close again.
  7. Select any paragraph and click CTRL + Enter. Word will now insert an unformatted page break before selected paragraph.
  8. To remove the page break, select the paragraph and click CTRL + Enter again.

Tips

  • In Word 2007 the keyboard shortcut is Alt + Shift + B
