Convince Your Parents to Let You Have a YouTube Account

YouTube is a video Web site from around the world. Millions of people have a YouTube account. Some people feel lonely. Don't feel lonely. Start today. If you follow these easy steps you might have an account.

Steps

  1. Sit your parents down at the calmest time. Talk to them in a calm manner.
  2. Tell them about what ways you can be safe on YouTube.
  3. Tell them the dangers about YouTube and how you will prevent these dangers from affecting you (for example, tell them that you will disable comments on your videos to prevent trolling).
  4. Explain to them why you want a YouTube account, and tell them what you want to do with it.
  5. Ask them if you can have a YouTube account.
  6. Walk away and give them about 5 minutes to discuss what they think.
  7. If they say no, wait 6-7 weeks and try again.
  8. If they say that you are too young, then wait about a month. Ask again.
  9. If they say that they're too worried because there are strangers watching, tell or write that maybe a lot of other kids have it and maybe some kids in your class have it too.
  10. Make a PowerPoint presentation or paragraph but take your time on it and don't make it look like you put no effort into it. When your done with that come up with ideas of what kind of videos you're going to make and make a practice video on a camera or other electronic with a camera.
  11. If they won't give you an account, then just accept it. Whatever you do, do not create a fake account. This will ruin the trust between you and your parents and you might have to wait even longer to get an account.
