Cook Shrimp Fried Rice

Fried rice is a tasty dish that typically consists of fried rice with onion and a variety of vegetables. Shrimp fried rice puts a seafood spin on this traditional dish and is delicious on its own or served with a variety of other Chinese foods. Ingredients

Simple Shrimp Fried Rice

  • 8 oz. peeled and deveined raw shrimp
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1/2 diced white onion
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1/2 cup diced carrots
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/2 cup diced red pepper
  • 1 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Shrimp and Egg Fried Rice

  • 6 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 2 thinly sliced shallots
  • 1 (2 inch) piece peeled and grated ginger
  • 1/2 small head napa cabbage
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1/2 lb. peeled and deveined medium shrimp
  • 3 large lightly beaten eggs
  • 4 cups cooked long-grain rice
  • 1/2 cup thawed frozen peas
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1/2 bunch sliced scallions
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts

Spicy Thai Shrimp Fried Rice

  • 1 tsp. sesame oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1/2 lb. peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 cup chopped scallions
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 1 chopped Thai chili pepper
  • 3 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 1/2 cups blanched broccoli florets
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tsp. fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp. chopped mint
  • 1 tbsp. chopped parsley
  • Salt to taste

Steps

Simple Shrimp Fried Rice

  1. Cook 4 cups of white rice. You can cook the rice on the spot by boiling it and reading the instructions on the package, or you can use white rice that you cooked the day before.[1]
  2. Fry the diced onion and bell peppers in vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Dice 1/2 of a white onion, 1/2 cup of green pepper, and 1/2 cup of red pepper and fry them in one tablespoon of vegetable oil. Fry them for at least two minutes, until the onion is translucent, and set this skillet aside.
  3. Fry the shrimp in vegetable oil in a different skillet over medium heat. Use a different skilled filled with one tablespoon of vegetable oil to fry 8 oz. of peeled and deveined shrimp. Fry them for 3-4 minutes, until they are no longer pink.
  4. Place the shrimp and rice in the skillet with the vegetables and cook them over medium heat. Add one tablespoon of soy sauce and one teaspoon of sesame oil and stir the ingredients together to combine the flavors. Stir the ingredients together and fry them for at least 3 more minutes, until the white rice is a bit crispy. Then, remove the fried rice from the heat.
  5. Season your fried rice. Season your fried rice with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve. Serve this simple shrimp fried rice immediately and garnish it with a handful of cilantro.

Shrimp and Egg Fried Rice

  1. Heat 2 tbsp. of peanut oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Wait one minute for the oil to heat up.
  2. Add the shallots and ginger and stir-fry them for one minute. Add 2 thinly sliced shallots and 1 (2 inch) piece of peeled and grated ginger to the oil. This should be enough time for them to be fragrant.
  3. Add the napa cabbage and stir fry it for 8 minutes. Add 1/2 of a small head of a finely sliced napa cabbage with its core removed. Fry it until it is wilted and soft and season it with a pinch of salt.
  4. Transfer the vegetables to a side platter. Then, wipe the wok with a dry paper towel.
  5. Coat the pan with 2 more tbsp. of peanut oil.
  6. Sauté 2 cloves of minced garlic until they're fragrant. This should take another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add 1/2 lb. of medium shrimp and cook them for 2-3 minutes. Cook the shrimp until they're nice and pink. Just make sure to peel and devein them first. Then, set the shrimp aside on the side platter with the vegetables.
  8. Add 2 more tbsp. of peanut oil to the wok. Wait a minute for the oil to heat up.
  9. Crack 3 eggs into the center of the wok. Scramble them lightly, and then let them set so it stays in large chunks.
  10. Fold in 4 cups of cooked long-grain rice. Toss the rice with the egg until the ingredients are combined and the rice has been broken up. You can use the back of a spatula to help break it up.
  11. Place the vegetables, shrimp, and 1/2 cup of thawed frozen peas to the pan. Add 3 tbsp. of soy sauce and salt to taste for seasoning. Toss the ingredients together for 1-2 minutes until they're heated through. Then remove the fried rice from the heat.
  12. Garnish. Garnish the shrimp and egg fried rice with 1/2 bunch of sliced scallions and 1/2 cup of chopped peanuts.
  13. Serve. Enjoy this tasty dish immediately.

Spicy Thai Shrimp Fried Rice

  1. Cook 3 cups of jasmine rice. Place the rice in boiling water and cook it for the amount of time on the instructions. You can also cook this rice a day or two before.[2]
  2. Heat 1 tsp. of sesame oil in a wok over medium high heat. Wait one minute for the oil to heat up a bit.
  3. Add 2 eggs and cook them for two minutes. Crack the eggs into the wok and cook them for one minute on each side and then turn them over. When they're done, move them to a cutting board and chop them up and set them aside.
  4. Add 1 tbsp. of coconut oil to the pan. Heat it over medium high heat.
  5. Add 1/2 lb. of peeled and deveined shrimp to the oil. Cook them for 1-2 minutes on each side until each side of the shrimp is golden.
  6. Stir in the scallions, garlic, and peppers. Stir in 1 cup of chopped scallions, 1 tbsp. of minced garlic, and 1 chopped Thai chili pepper and cook them for an additional minute.
  7. Pour in the rice and cook the ingredients for 1-2 more minutes. Don't stir as the ingredients blend.
  8. Stir in the broccoli, eggs, soy sauce, fish sauce, mint, and cilantro. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of blanched broccoli florets, 2 tsp. of soy sauce, 2 tsp. of fish sauce, 2 tbsp. of chopped mint, and {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}}. of chopped parsley.
  9. Serve. Season this spicy Thai shrimp fried rice with salt to taste and serve it immediately.
