Cook a Rice, Meat and Vegetable Dish
This is a how-to on how to make a great dish. A very easy-to-make rice dish that tastes great and is very hearty and filling.
Steps
- Buy two different types of vegetables at your local market. Any vegetable that you like and that is cheap will do. For instance eggplant and a few onions will do. Just let your taste and wallet guide you in picking the *right* veggies.
- Buy about {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} (1 pound) of cheap meat you like. Shoarma or minced meat will do very nicely.
- Buy rice, if you don't already have it.
- Buy instant bouillon (tablets).
- Heat some cooking oil in a big pan with a lid on high fire.
- Cut the meat and the veggies into small pieces. Add them to the hot oil and wait until it starts cooking. Also add a crushed bouillon tablet.
- Add a cup of water and wait for the mixture to get to boiling.
- Add the rice. Add as much rice as is needed to feed everybody (for instance 2 cups of rice yields about 8 servings). Add water to cook the rice. (2 cups of rice needs 3 cups of water total, so add 2 more cups of water.)
- Let the mixture heat at low fire for 15 minutes.
- Check after about 15 minutes to make sure the mixture is not getting to dry. If needed, add another cup of water.
- Heat for another 15 minutes (30 min. total cooking time).
- Eat!
- Finished.
Tips
- Don't use to much heat because the dish can burn easily.
- Add sambal or pepper to spice things up.
