Create Your Own Cartoon Character
Bugs Bunny? Spongebob? Minnie and Mickey Mouse? Who could forget those classics? Creating a cartoon character is hard, but with some imagination you can create a great one!
Steps
- Figure out what kind of character you want. If you're making a comic or an animated cartoon then figure out what role your character plays.
- Give them a personality. Shy, evil, nice, or not just one personality. A character can be evil and bold, or quiet and mean.
- When you've gotten their personalities, make sure you have given weak points and strong points. You can't create a character that's completely perfect, or completely bad. A character could be nice, yet a bit selfish.
- Now you're ready for physical features. Is it a guy or girl? How old are they? Remember, cartoons are exaggerated. You know, big eyes, or big ears if it's an animal? Big nose? What color is their hair/fur? If you want an animal, what species? Draw your character out.
Tips
- Give them special features as well! For example, you could add professor glasses to your character. Anything you want!
- Use already made cartoons to inspire you.
- When creating your second character, think about how you want the characters to react with each other.
- When creating a character, try to base them on people you know. But don't give them the same name.
- Be creative!
- Keep trying, if you don't like your character, start over.
Warnings
- Don't create a perfect character, it makes them boring. Weaknesses are very important.
- Don't get stressed over it!
- Be careful with your equipment, pencils are sharp and can poke you/someone elses eye out. Paper can cut you/someone else.
