Create a Super Character in Oblivion

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is a 2007 game in the Elder Scrolls series. This guide shows you tips to make the game easier overall.

Steps

  1. Pull the game difficulty right down by going to Gameplay options.
  2. Gather tons of gold. To do this, you'll have to exploit glitches. If you're uncomfortable about doing that, skip this step. You can exploit the Dorian or Kvatch Horseback glitch. Either one is fine. Make sure you don't collect too much gold; it can really stuff your game. One way to get cash without exploiting glitches is to get a huge amount of ingredients (They can be found anywhere, and are pretty easy to get.)and make a lot of potions, even if they don't do anything. sell them all (Preferably to the same merchant, it raises their disposition if you sell to them often), and watch your mercantile and alchemy skills soar! When you are a master in alchemy, make huge amounts of potions with one ingredient each, and using your high mercantile, haggle and get a good price for each of them. Remember, it is also good to do the standard "Dungeon Raiding" technique, these are just if you want to save time.
  3. Join all the Guilds. Thieves Guild is optional; Dark Brotherhood is strongly recommended. Take armour, enchanted items, etc. from the Guild Halls.
  4. Try to play a 'good guy' (a character with higher Fame than Infamy). If you prefer, you can be a bad guy, though; it's a roleplaying game after all.
  5. Go through as many dungeons and Ayleid Ruins as possible. The Ayleid Ruins, especially, as most of them contain Welkynd Stones and Varla Stones.
  6. Train with the Adoring Fan, creatures you summon yourself, or even exploit the duplication glitch and apply enchanted item effects permanently. Do not apply Night Eye, Chameleon, Detect Life or Water Walking permanently. It'll be a pain.

Tips

  • Going through the Arena battles is beneficial.
  • Understand the leveling system thoroughly.
  • Save often when in dangerous situations. You never know when you might die or if the game may crash.
  • Read Oblivion Guides. This will strengthen your knowledge of the mechanics of the game.
  • If you're not an Argonian, you obtain Fin Gleam.
  • Completing the Main Quest line is helpful, unless you have started the Vampirism Cure quest.
  • Becoming a vampire makes you stronger, and grants you abilities, however, there are drawbacks such as taking damage in the sun as vampirism advances.

Warnings

  • Exploiting bugs and glitches in the game could result in crashes, which in turn will cause data loss. Be sure to save your game before you attempt an exploit.
