Crop a Video in Adobe Premiere Pro
Adobe Premiere Pro is a high level video editor that has a lot of power to it. The problem with a strong, commercial product is that they can be difficult to figure out for the beginners. Cropping a video is something that people who don't know how to use the program might want to know, sooner than later.
- The screenshots in this article were made in Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
Steps
- Open up Set Up a New Adobe Premiere Project. If you don't already have your project set up, you will need to do it when you start it up.
- If you don't already have your video in the program, import your media (your video).
- Once you have it in your project tab, drag it to the timeline.
- Select Effects at the top center of your screen.
- Go to the Effects tab. It should be in your Project window.
- Go to Video Effects and press the arrow that you see beside it. Scroll down to Transform.
- Select Transform and locate the Crop effect.
- Click on the Crop effect and drag it over to the timeline. This will open up the Effects Controls.
- Go to where it says Left in the Effects Controls window. Slide using the arrow cursor to place the left side where you want it.
- Repeat the process on all sides. Remember, you are better off framing your shot correctly, than cropping it down.
