Rotate a Video in Adobe Premiere Pro
Quite often, you get the video the wrong direction. Usually, this happens when someone has a new phone and hasn't figured out which way was up! Luckily, in Adobe Premiere Pro, rotating the video isn't hard.
Steps
- Start a project in Set Up a New Adobe Premiere Project and import your video to it.
- If you don't already have your video in the program, import your media (your video).
- Once you have it in your project tab, drag it to the timeline.
- Go to the Effects Control tab.
- Locate the Rotation option. It will be under Motion. Change the number. To get you started, here are some basic angles.
- Video needs rotated right (CW): 45 degrees
- Video needs rotated left (CCW): 270 degrees
- Video is upside down: 90 degrees
- Watch the video after you rotate it. The video will be rotated sideways, but you will lose some of it in the transition.
- Consider changing the scale to a smaller number, like 75 %. This will allow you to keep more of the video right on screen.
