Defeat Lisa Trevor in Resident Evil

So, you have been able to dodge Lisa Trevor on the first two encounters, but now you must defeat her - notice defeat, not kill.

Steps

  1. Make sure that this is your third encounter. The first encounter with her was in her cabin, right before entering the Residence. The second time was in the tunnels. The third time (now) will be right before entering the lab.
  2. Approach the area. The ladder down is kind of hidden in the shadows and bumps of Jessica Trevor's shrine, in the room of the Main Hall 1F of the mansion, down the steps and through the double doors unlocked by both the Stone & Metal Objects.
  3. You will see a cutscene where your character meets their partner, Wesker if Chris, Barry if Jill. Lisa then enters the area, smashing one of the statues.
    • If as Jill, Barry will go crazy and point his gun at you. As soon as Lisa enters, you will be faced with a decision to give him back his gun or not.

      • If you give it back (recommended for a better ending), he can survive the battle and help you out.
      • If you don't give it back, he automatically gets knocked off the edge by her and drops a family picture and you get to keep his .44 Magnum.
  4. Knock her off the edge. There are two ways of doing this;
    • Push down all four pillars to uncover the tomb and make her scream when she sees it and jump off the edge. She will mainly focus on your partner because he is the one shooting her. If she is about to kill your partner, shoot her to divert her attention. Also be careful not to let her push you off or hit you.
    • Shoot her until she falls off. Shoot her until she gets to the edge, where she will almost fall off but holds on. Run right over to her, aim down with your gun and fire again. That should make her lose her grip and fall off. Using the Infinite Rocket Launcher if you unlocked it by completing Normal or Hard mode in under 3 hours, you can get her close to the edge and then shoot, and she will be knocked down and will just fall off the edge without holding on.

Tips

  • If you let Wesker get killed as Chris, he will appear later in the game because he is part of the plot. Sadly, that is not true for poor old Barry if you let him die.
  • Since Barry's Magnum is of the .44 caliber, it cannot be reloaded with the .357 Magnum Rounds, and you only get the 6 shots it comes with.
  • If you do not know what to do next after defeating her, you will be going to the labs and concluding the game soon. Go forward through the gate and put the Wolf Medal and Eagle Medal (don't ask where you get those, if you got this far and searched everything you should have gotten them) in the holes around the pond to drain it. Head down the steps into the labs...
  • If you are behind her, her tentacles can reach out and hit you in the face.
  • If you MUST waste the ammo of another weapon, here is how they work on her.

    • Shotguns: More powerful when you are closer, it takes one shot to make her flinch.
    • Magnums: Includes .44, .357, and .22 Self Defense Gun. Pack powerful punches and make her flinch a lot.
    • Handguns: Includes normal Handgun (Beretta 92) and Samurai Edge (if you unlocked it). She will walk right through your stream of bullets and kill you.

  • Do not spend too much ammo shooting her to make her fall down unless you are using a Do the Grenade Launcher Glitch in Resident Evil Grenade Launcher.
  • She is invincible. The only way to "defeat" her is by making her fall off the edge. She will be gone, but not dead - but that doesn't matter, because you won't see her again anyway.

Warnings

  • Do not stand too close to the edge, she can knock you off.
