Get Used to the Controls in Resident Evil

All Resident Evil games (excluding Resident Evil 4 and 5) have unique controls that help make the game more precise. Unfortunately, people sometimes criticize the game because they don't understand the controls.

Steps

  1. Understand that they are more precise and best for a Survival-Horror game. Press the forward button to go forward in the direction you are facing, and the side buttons only turn your character, not move it.
  2. Practice! Run around holding B and try to control where you go. Once you are facing the direction, all you need to do is go forward.
  3. Try dodging zombies. Run up to them, and when they lurch towards you, step back or go around them. You might mess up and get grabbed a few times, so just carry some healing items, and, in Resident Evil 1 Remake on GameCube, defense items.

Tips

  • Some characters are faster than other ones.
  • When you practice, make sure you don't have any weapon equipped so that you are faster and better balanced.

Warnings

  • When you are running straight in the direction you want, do not tilt the control stick or you will go off course!

Things You'll Need
