Make V Jolt in Resident Evil

In Resident Evil 1 Remake, on the GameCube, the Plant 42 boss presents a challenge. Using V-Jolt on its roots will make it weaker and therefore require less, if any, ammunition to finish it off.

Note: Works in both games, but in Chris's game you will take control of Rebecca to make it when he inevitably gets grabbed by Plant 42.

Note: For Jill, this is purely optional, but is easier and saves ammo.

Steps

  1. Get into the gallery room, located in the Residence/Guardhouse. Go up to the door with the punch code and punch in for the colors what corresponds the color and number pairs on the pool table, which is also in the Residence - each game, the numbers will be a different order of the numbers 5, 6 and 3 and they are in the color order of Green, Orange/Yellow and Red. There are only six combinations. So, you may not even have to look at the balls on the pool table in the room in the Residence with the spiders through the double doors.
  2. In the room, pick up all the empty containers.
    • You will now be going to each station to put the color into the bottles and then mix it into your inventory. Read the description of each station to see what amount it adds. Water counts as 1.
    • Note: The name of the mixture as described in the process will be colored the same color as the mixture appears in the container in the game.
  3. Fill the first bottle with Water from the sink.
  4. Fill the second bottle with UMB 3 from the big red jar.
  5. Combine the two in your inventory to get NP-004.
  6. Fill the other bottle with Yellow 6 from the big yellow jar.
  7. Combine the two in your inventory to get UMB 10.
  8. Make UMB 7.
    • In two OTHER jars, combine Water with Yellow 6.
  9. Combine the two in your inventory to get VP-017.
  10. Fill the other bottle with UMB 3.
  11. Combine the two in your inventory to get a brownish mixture called V-Jolt, which is equal to UMB 20.
    • Use it. Go to the Aqua Ring (circular room with sharks that is now drained), and get into the Control Room, then climb the ladder and go to the actual drained ring. Go in through the door in the center and immediately go to your inventory and press to use the V-Jolt. When asked, discard all the other empty jars

Tips

  • A file called "Organic Chemistry Lab Experiment" gives more hints and information about V-Jolt. It just says the colors of the mixtures as you get to V-Jolt. It is found as a white book on the bookshelf in Room 003 of the Residence. The file you find right before that is called "Plant 42 Report", and it mostly has interesting facts but also provides a few helpful hints.
  • The equation is also scratched out on the wall of the V-Jolt room. It is as follows;
    • 1 + 3 = 4, 4 + 6 = 10, 1 + 6 = 7, 10 + 7 = 17, 17 + 3 = 20.
  • Remember to check the fireplace for the Helmet Key after defeating Plant 42 - you will be using it in the mansion. After Plant 42, you are about halfway through the game, and now it all moves at a pretty fast pace.
  • There is yet another hint in the game, and it is on a paper on the wall;
    • Water = 1, Red = 3, Purple = 4, Yellow = 6.
  • This may sound complicated, but everything explained here are things you would have had to have figured out for yourself in order to proceed anyway. If you have not been able to figure it out just from the clues in the game, you may need elaboration and explanation - that's why the color that the mixture here is is the same as the color of the mixture in the container in the game.
  • Save right before this part so you can just restart if you mess up really bad - this may take a few tries.
  • This just incapacitates it and you will encounter it again with the tyrant on the helipad.

Warnings

  • If you mess up, the chemicals can create a toxic gas that will kill you if you don't leave the room. It is done by adding NP-004 to UMB 10.
