Disable Right Click in Windows XP

Have you ever wished you could disable the right click ability in Windows? This article will tell you how to disable the right click function in Windows XP.

Steps

  1. Open up the "run" command (if it is disabled use 'Windows Key' + R)
  2. Type in "regedit" but without the quotations. Then push enter.
  3. Navigate to:
  4. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
  5. Look for the value name "NoViewContextMenu" (if no such value exists, then just go ahead and create it)
  6. Make sure the type is REG_DWORD
  7. Type in a 1 to disable right clicking and a 0 to enable right clicking.
  8. Restart your computer after the modification.

Tips

  • Make sure you create a backup of your registry and create a system restore point.

Warnings

  • You should not attempt this if you do not know how to use the registry editor because it could damage your computer and make it useless.
