Prepare With The Basics
- Find an area to practice in.
- Learn that the first step to doing freestyle soccer tricks is by learning to control the ball. You can do this by juggling. Practice until you are sure of your abilities and are comfortable with juggling on field.
- Know that once you have done this try balancing the ball on your feet, thighs, head, chest and back, this will take a long time to master.
- Try to move the ball to other parts of your body, for example, while holding on your foot, try to kick it up to balance it on your chest.
- Watch videos and see how it is done in slow motion and then try it in stages.
- Another trick is to balance the ball on your foot and quickly (and this takes a lot of time to get right) move your foot around the ball and catch it so it balances on your foot
The Rainbow
- First move is the rainbow. This is one of the most popular moves. But only do this trick if you are feeling very comfortable in the game. Don't just throw it out there, do it at the right time in the right place. If you don't do it well at first, just try to retrieve the ball. Don't attempt again until at least 20 minutes.
- Take the soccer ball and put your dominant foot in front with the heel of your shoe touching the ball. Now take your non-dominant foot and place that so the ball will fit perfectly into the curve in your shoe.
- Now roll the ball up the back of your dominant leg (the leg that is in front of the ball.) Hold it there. Have it at the most a foot above the ground, (try to have it {{safesubst:#invoke:convert|convert}} above your front leg back of the *shoe*.
- Now roll the ball up the back of your leg and release your back leg away from the "trick area" (where the ball is) now swing you front leg backwards, hitting the ball with your heal. The ball, after a lot of practice, should go over your head in the shape of a rainbow.
The Roll and Hold
- This move is considered relatively simpler but very impressive and a strategic one. You can throw this move out there more often by being careful.
- First, put your dominant shoe on top of the ball, but only the toes, the back of shoe should be touching the ground behind the ball. Now roll back quickly and get your toes under the ball while the ball is in the air for a short amount of time.
- Quickly slide the ball down the top of your shoe and squeeze the ball between your shoe and shin.
The Dead End
- This move is fairly popular, you can do this as an evasive move (very good for defense, dodging, stuff like that.)
- When someones running at you for the ball, don't run towards them just stay there. Pretend like you're trying to think of what to do next.
- When he/she comes really close and slides for the ball whip it back.
- It goes behind you. Now hit the ball to the opposite side of your dominant foot with the side of your shoe. This all should be done in one clean fluent motion.
