Draw a Black Bear

What kind of bear is best? False. Black bear. Regardless of whether or not you share Dwight Schrute's affinity for the smallest, most common species of bear, you can follow the steps below to learn to draw one of your own.

Steps

  1. Draw the head. Sketch a large circle and an oval underneath it for the snout. Add in guidelines for the details of the face, with diagonals on top of the head and crisscrossing lines where the eyes will be.
  2. Add in features. Put two small, dark eyes, two curved triangles for the ears, and a bean-shaped nose.
  3. Draw a circle for the neck and two large ovals for the body. Add in sets of large ovals for the legs and a half-oval for each to the paws.
  4. Outline your drawing and erase guidelines. Add other details like tiny tufts of hair on the top of your bear and curved toes for his paws.
  5. Color in your drawing. As the name suggests, the primary color of the black bear is indeed black, but you can also add accents and shadows in other colors.
  6. Finished.

Tips

  • Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
