Draw a Silhouette
Need a silhouette for an art project or the background of a poster? Learn how to draw one by following this easy tutorial.
Steps
- Draw big oval. Put a rectangle at the bottom, just barely overlapping the lower edge as seen.
- Add two smaller ovals. Add two lines to indicate the shape of the face. At this point it should almost like a stick figure boxing, or reaching up to high-five another stick figure.
- Draw a semicircle on one side of the big oval and add a triangle at the bottom. The arc will be the back of the head and the triangle is the curve of the neck.
- Detail the chin, lips, and nose. Connect the shapes to one another, so the silhouette starts looking more like a face and less like a work of abstract art.
- Erase all extraneous lines within the image. Draw the shadow of the hair by adding a few tufts near the top and the back.
- Outline the image using black ink (or crayon if you want). Fill the entire thing in with black color to finish up the silhouette.
Tips
- Draw lightly in pencil so that you can easily rub out mistakes.
