Dye Your Hair Orange
Whether you want bright carrot orange, or just a nice natural ginger- orange hair is back and more amazing than ever!
Steps
- Consider if you will need to lighten your hair first. If your hair is darker than the type of orange you are planning to go, you may need to bleach your hair to a lighter colour, read up on bleaching hair in some other wikiHow articles! You'll only need 1-2 bleaches
- If you're wanting your hair bright BRIGHT orange, as in un-natural looking orange, your best chance is to start with a blonde base of hair, which in most cases- involves bleach
- Once you have your hair light enough, you need to choose which type of orange you're deciding to dye your hair! If you're wanting a bright and very un-natural looking orange, most people recommend 'Manic Panic' or 'Paint Box by Fudge' un-natural hair colours.
- Find the right dye. If you decide to go for a more natural look, you'll be able to find a box dye in the colour you want in a hair supply store, Walmart of other department stores, or in some cases your supermarket!
- Follow the instructions on the packet of the dye, mainly because every dye has a different processing time.
- Once you have rinsed the dye out of your hair, make sure to condition your hair. Most hair dyes from a box come with some conditioner, if yours doesn't leave some conditioner in your hair for 2-5 minutes.
Tips
- If you dye your hair BRIGHT orange, to keep the colour as vibrant as possible put some dye in your conditioner, so whenever you condition your hair- colour is deposited
- Most people, would recommend going into a salon to get hair bleached or even dyed. If you have the money and are not completely confident with dying your own hair, either go into a salon or get a friend or family member to help you
Warnings
- Try not to over-dye your hair, even though going darker is less damaging than bleaching your hair, it doesn't mean depositing colour doesn't damage your hair, get split ends trimmed once the procedure is over and condition, condition, condition!
Things You'll Need
- An old shirt to wear for the dying process

- Bleach (if needed)

- Rubber gloves (if your box-dye doesn't have some included)
