Flatten Money

Ever wonder how to make your money flat? Wells here's a cool way of doing so. Its very simple and easy.

Steps

Bills

  1. Make sure you have an iron and ironing board present.
  2. Layout iron board and plug in iron.
  3. Set the iron to the highest depending on what type of iron you have.
  4. Dampen the bill you wish to smooth out by dipping it in water.
  5. Place money on iron board and begin ironing the money lightly. Be sure not to press down too hard or for too long.

Coin Method 1

  1. Use a coin flattening machine at a local amusement park or museum.
    • Note: usually these machines will also put a design into your coin... and usually they will flatten only pennies.

Coin Method 2

  1. Place a small dab of poster putty on your coin.
  2. Stick the coin to a hard, clean surface such as polished cement.
  3. Wear safety goggles.
  4. Hammer the coin flat.
    • Note: This will take some time. Be methodical about the placement of your hammer blows for the most even result.

Wall Method

  1. Find a corner of a wall or door, preferably clean.
  2. Take each side of the bill in one hand and stretch it out lengthwise.
  3. Place the middle of the bill on the corner of the wall or door.
  4. Move the bill side to side rubbing against the corner until desired flatness occurs.
    • Note: Do not push too hard against the corner or you will rip the bill.

Tips

  • When ironing the money use light strokes. You can steam press the money too. Just don't keep it there.

Warnings

  • Don't hold the iron on the money for too long or it can burn.
  • Only mess with an iron if you know how to work with one.
  • Be very careful for the iron can be very hot.
