Fold a Bus Note

Summer camp has ended, and you want to give someone special a note to read on the bus as he or she is leaving. But if you only fold the note in half, you know that your recipient is going to read the note before getting on the bus, and you're going to be disappointed. To solve this problem, you need to learn to fold a bus note. When you fold it properly, it can only be opened once, and your someone special will be less likely to give in to temptation and read your note before the bus pulls away.

Steps

  1. Start out with a rectangular piece of paper. An A4 piece of paper is perhaps the most preferable. A4 paper is a commonly used size of paper often used in printers, found in most stationery stock stores. This size of paper measures 8.27 X 11.69 inches or 21.0 × 29.7 cm.
  2. Write your note on the paper. You can write something extensive or keep it short and sweet.
  3. Fold all four corners of the paper down and in. This fold is similar to the type of fold you would make if you were folding a paper airplane.
  4. Grasp the left side of the paper at its midpoint. Fold the side of the paper inward so that the inner corners touch the midpoint of the triangles that you just created. Do the same on the right side.
  5. Take the top pointed end of the paper and fold it downward. Then, fold the bottom pointed end upward. The paper should now be in the shape of a rectangle.
  6. Fold the bottom 1/3 of the paper behind the rest of the paper.
  7. Flip the paper over. The end that you just folded behind the rest of the paper should now be facing you.
  8. Fold the top 1/3 of the paper downward. Tuck the left corner of the paper that you just folded downward into the left side panel of the section that faces you.
  9. Tuck the right corner of the folded down side into the right side panel of the bottom section.
  10. Turn the paper around 180 degrees. For the finishing touch, write "Pull" on top of the triangle that sticks out of the corners. When it's pulled, the paper will come apart, revealing your hidden message.
  11. Finished. Your friend will be afraid of opening your note early because it will be impossible to put back together.[1]
