Make a Tangram
A tangram is made of seven shapes that you can arrange to make another shape. All the pieces must be used and none of them can overlap. It's easy to make your own tangram. See how many unique arrangements you can come up with!

Making a Tangram
- Start with a shape (like a square) and divide it into the shapes shown with a ruler and a pen (or do this in an image program and print it out).
- Glue the drawing onto a thin sheet of plastic with weak glue (e.g. white glue).
- Cut the outlines of the large shape, then cut the individual pieces.
- Peel off the paper.
- Give the puzzle to someone to play with!
Tips
- Put the pieces in an envelope when not in use.
- Using two tangrams, you can make even more fun shapes.
- You can also make a tangram greeting card!
