To have any Android device read out loud the name of a caller, you can use a talking caller ID app from the app store. Certain Android devices have the ability to read out caller ID information, such as LG phones or older Samsungs.

Steps

  2. Tap the Search bar. This is at the top of the screen.
  3. Type talking caller id into the search field.
  4. Tap Talking Caller ID from Kashifz Studio.
  5. Tap Install.
  6. Tap Accept.
  7. Tap Open. This button appears after the app has finished downloading and installing.
  8. Ensure that ON is displayed. This should be enabled by default. When this is enabled, you'll here the name of the person calling you as your phone rings.
  9. Tap Settings. There are several settings you can adjust for Talking Caller ID.
  10. Tap Diagnose. This will check to make sure your Text-to-Speech settings are correct. If they are not, follow the instructions displayed to fix them.

  2. Scroll down to the System section.
  3. Tap Language and input.
  4. Scroll down to the Speech section.
  5. Tap Notification readout.
  6. Check the Calls from favorite contacts box. You'll now hear the names of callers if they've been favorited in your Contacts app.
