Get Twins on the Sims 2

Have you always wanted your little Sim family to have a pair of twins? If so, you are in luck! There are three different ways to have twins in The Sims 2 besides waiting for fate to kick in. Two of these options require the expansion packs The Sims 2: Open For Business and The Sims 2: Free Time, and one is a cheat.

Steps

  1. Option 1: This only works if you have The Sims 2: Free Time or later expansion packs or stuff packs. NOTE- Your Sim's primary aspiration must be 'Family' for this to work properly.
  2. In Live Mode, go to the 'Aspiration Benefits' button on your female Sim's UI panel. It's the inventory tab and the aspiration points tab combined.
  3. Go to the third tab down, and click on the figure to the left of that screen.
  4. Click each box until you reach 'Super Fertility' at the top of the panel. This costs 4 Aspiration Points.
  5. Your couple now has a greater chance of birthing twins.
  6. Option 2: With cheats.
  7. Once a Sim has conceived, open the cheat window with these keys: ctrl + shift + c
  8. Enter this cheat into the white box: forcetwins
  9. Your Sim is guaranteed to give birth to twins.
  10. Option 3: This only works if you have installed The Sims 2: Open For Business.
  11. Have your pregnant Sim eat cheesecake. You will have a near 100 percent chance of twins.

Tips

  • There have been a number of rumors over the years of how to get twins. The ONLY food that triggers twins is cheesecake with the Open For Business Expansion(which need only be eaten once during pregnancy), and the ONLY cheat that will work is forcetwins.
  • Unlike gender, the chance of your Sim having twins is determined at conception. You cannot reload your game before your Sim gives birth and turn a single birth into twins, or vice versa.
  • For the first option, you have to have The Sims 2: Free Time expansion pack, which installs the Aspiration Benefits panel into the game.
