Contents
Steps
- Pinpoint exactly who you're interested in and consider him/her. Make sure they are actually available.
- Strike up a conversation with the object of your affection 2-3 weeks before the Big Day. Keep it casual and friendly.
- Keep flirting over the next couple weeks, and take note of anything special about these conversations.
- 2-3 days before Valentine's Day, send a small, anonymous gift to them. Keep it very simple, but include a card. Make a reference to something you've discussed in the past couple weeks, or an inside joke you've shared.
- The day before Valentine's Day, ask if they received your gift. Judging from their response, proceed to ask them out to dinner.
- If they say yes, no further steps are required. Congratulations! If they say no, refer to the tips below...
Tips
- Even if you do get turned down, maintain a positive attitude and keep your poker face. Thank them anyway, and say that you hoped they enjoyed the "anonymous" present.
- Don't be creepy. It won't help you.
- If the object of your desire isn't interested, it's not the end of the world. Try going to the mall, grocery store or any other places you can think of that may have single people walking around. Perhaps you can grab a cup of coffee with someone who is single.
Warnings
- Avoid elaborate or expensive gifts over $30 that will seem stalker-ish. Remember, simple is always a winner!
- If they reject you, don't get mad or be rude to them. It will only make things worse.
